I'm sure there's an Anne version of this story, well for now here's
Anu's (that's me!)

Been over a month I apprehensively drove down with Abheek (a colleague and friend) to pick Anne up from her foster home some 40 kms away in Delhi. I was told by Deepti (angel who helped Anne and me connect, coordinating with Khalsa Rescue Foundation who helped with all paper work and guidance along with Deepti) that Anne had been an accidental birth (in a residence housing a Boxer and a Great Dane) and now was not wanted there.
She was probably kept chained up and was going to be taken by breeders if not rescued. Hearing this and seeing her pics/vids made me melt, I wasn't prepared mentally or logistically but seemed this was a calling..

Then 4 months old, Anne was so worried, cautious, apprehensive yet friendly when I met her.

Life's been a roller coaster since 14th Jan when we first met. I'm sure for her too.
From her being a timid, shy and worried girl she's now much relaxed, happy and trustful of humans.
Outdoors she's a young brat, very popular around the apartment complex (while on her walks or play in the parks, I constantly hear loud and cheerful callouts of "Hi Anne!" which raise her ears and make me proudly smile).
While indoors she's a princess happily asleep or enjoying head massages or belly rubs or pawdicures :).

To me personally she comes as an angel. Before her I had constantly been restless and ever itching to travel/move every few weeks. Had become undisciplined in my workouts and wake up hours etc.
Never used to step out of home (I've a home office) apart from brief morning breaks. The work itself made the head spin and there wasn't any relief.

With Anne though things are so different! I'm not itching to just be constantly on the move so much, mornings are good 1 to 2 hours of play and walk with her starting pre dawn, I step out 4-5 times a day walking anything between 12kms to 15 kms daily with her and work stuff doesn't bother as much - as there's always Anne to speak to and she hears me out :). And well she's making friends at the speed of light :).. be it fellow canines or their humans
Her tantrums of asking for belly rubs or just looking at me with her puppy eyes - just takes every worry away and any weight on the shoulders feels light :)

Damn, I can go on and on, but I'll pause, will let pics and vids do more justice than words. Do visit instagram.com/anupamg80 to see tons of her action and tantrums :)
Cheers,
Anupam
